This study was undertaken to identify the difference of knowledge-accessing mode among nurses by two educational backgrounds which are 3-year junior college and baccalaureate degree and to identity the correlation between the knowledge-accessing mode and vertical, horizontal conflicts of nurses.
The results of this study are as follows;
1. The major mode of staff nurses is noetic, whereas it is rational mode in head nurse group.
2. There is significant difference in their knowledge-accessing modes between staff nurses educated at 3-year and those who have baccalaurea to degree.
3. As work place changes, there is no significant difference in horizontal conflicts (f = 2.05, p = 0.09), but there is significant difference in vertical ones. (f = 8.32, p = 0.00)
4. There is no significant difference in horizontal (p = 0.44) or vertical conflicts (p = 0.92) between staff nurses from 3-year and those who have baccalaureate degree and there is no significant difference in horizontal (p = 0.63, f = 0.46) or vertical conflicts (p = 0.22, f = 1.52) resulting from major modes.
5. The staff nurses with baccalaureate degree who frequently use the empirical mode has the significant horizontal conflicts. (r = 0.24)
The study to measure the knowledge-accessing modes of nursing students at junior college and nursig college, and further study on the knowledge-accessing modes and nursing conflicts are necessary for the generalization of this study.
